We’ve provided four tutorials to show you how to do tasks related to using your reseller account:

  1. How to reset your reseller account password
  2. How to purchase a new software licence for a customer

  4. How to purchase a software upgrade for a customer

With tutorials 2, 3 and 4, when you are purchasing for our mutual customer, you are doing the same actions, and have the same choices our mutual customer has.

We will not let you make choices or changes that our mutual customer is not able to make.

How to reset your reseller account password

  1. Go to https://www.softwareverify.com/reseller
  2. The reseller login page is displayed
  3. Click the Forgot Password? link.
  4. The password reset page is displayed
  5. In the first field type the reseller account name
  6. In the second field type the new password that you’d like to use
  7. In the third field type the new password that you’d like to use. This second entry of the new password is to confirm you typed the first one correctly.
  8. Click Reset Password.
  9. An email will be sent to the email address we have on file for this reseller. When that email is received click the link contained in that email. This will activate the new password that you have set. 
  10. A new web page is displayed confirming the password has been changed. Click the link to return to the login page.

How to purchase a new software licence for a customer

  1. Go to https://www.softwareverify.com/reseller
  2. The reseller login page is displayed
  3. Type your reseller account name into the username field
  4. Type your reseller account password into the password field
  5. Click Login
  6. A reseller summary page is displayed, listing the reseller company name and details, the reseller contact name, and telephone number
  7. There are four choices of action you can take
  8. Select the first option I want to purchase software on behalf of my customer
  9. Click Choose
  10. From this point onwards you are making the same choices a retail customer could make on our website, but you are purchasing on their behalf, with prices calculated based on your selection and your reseller discount.
  11. The product selection page is displayed
  12. From the Product dropdown choose the product you wish to purchase
  13. From the Licence dropdown choose the licence you wish to purchase
  14. From the Qty dropdown choose the number of licences you wish to purchase
  15. Click the + to add this selection to the basket
  16. The display is updated with reseller prices for the items in the basket
  17. A new line is displayed for you to add additional products, if that is desired
  18. When you have added all the produce you wish to purchase, click Purchase
  19. A new web page is displayed, showing what is being purchased and the reseller price
  20. Now enter the customer’s email address into the field provided. This email address will be used to provide software update notifications to the customer during the software maintenance period.
  21. Click Next
  22. A new web page is displayed to collect information about the customer (name, company, address, etc). Complete this information.
  23. Click Next
  24. A new web page is displayed to collect the licence user name, purchase order numbers (so that we can find this order when you present us with an order referencing it in a year’s time), and credit card details for payment. Complete this information.
  25. Click Next
  26. A summary page will be displayed that shows the product to be purchased, the price, the customer’s contact details, etc. If you check these details and find that they are correct, you can complete the purchase by clicking Order Now.
  27. Staff at Software Verify will check the purchase details (email address being an address of a customer, not a reseller, etc) and complete the sale.

How to purchase a software maintenance renewal for a customer

  1. Go to https://www.softwareverify.com/reseller
  2. The reseller login page is displayed
  3. Type your reseller account name into the username field
  4. Type your reseller account password into the password field
  5. Click Login
  6. A reseller summary page is displayed, listing the reseller company name and details, the reseller contact name, and telephone number
  7. There are four choices of action you can take
  8. Select the second option I want to renew software maintenance on behalf of my customer
  9. Click Choose
  10. The maintenance id page is displayed
  11. Enter the maintenance id of the account you wish to renew software maintenance for. You will already have the maintenance id – you need it so that you can obtain a quote from Software Verify for the purchase. Sometimes we can identify the account without the maintenance id. On those rare occasions, the staff at Software Verify will have provided the maintenance id when they provide you with a quote for this purchase
    Important. Do not guess the maintenance id – if you do that you may end up purchasing software maintenance for someone that is not your customer. The maintenance id is not the licence id. If you don’t know the maintenance id, ASK YOUR CUSTOMER FOR IT.
  12. Click Add to add the maintenance id to the basket
  13. The display updates to display the product identified by the maintenance id.
  14. From this point onwards, you are making the same choices an existing customer could make when they log in to their authorised downloads section of our website, but you are purchasing on their behalf, with prices calculated based on the customer’s product, licence type, number of users and your reseller discount.
  15. The data displayed about the product, licence type, number of users (quantity) and email address all come from our database. They cannot be wrong. The prices are calculated based on your reseller discount. They cannot be wrong.
  16. Check that the displayed product, licence type and licence quantity match the quote supplied by Software Verify. Don’t change them if they don’t match – contact support@softwareverify.com if they don’t match. If Software Verify support tell you that everything is correct, please proceed with the purchase.
  17. If the details match, click Purchase
  18. Because this is a software maintenance renewal, we already know the customer’s email address, so this is displayed on the next page. You may have a different email address for the customer, probably for someone working in purchasing. Don’t worry about that – we want to use the licence holder’s email address here, and that is the email address that is displayed.
  19. Click Next
  20. A new web page is displayed to collect information about the customer (name, company, address, etc). Complete this information
  21. Click Next
  22. A new web page is displayed to collect the licence user name, purchase order numbers (so that we can find this order when you present us with an order referencing it in a year’s time), and credit card details for payment. Complete this information

  6. A reseller summary page is displayed, listing the reseller company name and details, the reseller contact name, and telephone number

  8. Select the third option I want to upgrade software on behalf of my customer
  9. Click Choose
  10. The maintenance id page is displayed
  11. Enter the maintenance id of the account you wish to renew software maintenance for. You will already have the maintenance id – you need it so that you can obtain a quote from Software Verify for the purchase. Sometimes we can identify the account without the maintenance id – on those rare occasions the staff at Software Verify will have provided the maintenance id when they provide you with a quote for this purchase
