Proxy

 

Symbols servers may need to use a proxy server to pass through firewalls.

 

To use a proxy server:

 

•Use a proxy server to access the symbol server enter the name of the proxy server in the Proxy text box  enter the port number in the Port edit box

 

The port number should be in the range 0 to 65535.

 

If you specify a proxy server that does not exist or that is too slow to reply, SymSrv.dll will timeout on the proxy server and attempt to connect directly to the specified symbol servers. This can result in slower performance from the symbol servers than if you specify a proxy server correctly or not at all.
