Perl Bug Validator Tutorial
This document is intended to augment the information in the Perl Bug Validator Help file. If you have not read the help file we encourage you to do so. Perl Bug Validator is a powerful and complex product, reading the help manual will help you use Perl Bug Validator more efficiently.
Perl Bug Validator is an analysis tool that can analyse running applications and also analyse the encoded logs created by Perl Bug Validator Client.
Example Application
The example application is perlbvExample.pl in the perlbvExample folder in the installation folder.
How to use Perl Bug Validator
- Start Perl Bug Validator.
- Start the application using Perl Bug Validator's launch program option.
The launch application wizard displayed.
Select the application using the Browse... button. Click the Go ! button. The application will start and Perl Bug Validator will start to monitor the application. Perl Bug Validator will display a progress dialog box whilst it is attaching to the application.
- Use the application as normal.
- When an error occurs or the application crashes, click the Refresh button on Perl Bug Validator.

- Save the the log using the Save option on the File menu.
